Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly is part of the Most Beautiful Villages of Quebec Association, and for a good reason! The village was officially founded in 1702 and is built on two levels: a lower part located by the St. Lawrence River, and an upper part on the hill. In the lower part, beautiful villas and cottages were built for people who come here to let the tide and wind rock them. A quay and a boat-launching ramp allow a direct access to the river.
The upper part of the village is the original downtown where three seigniorial manors are still standing: the Manoir de Tilly, which was built in 1786; the ancient Normand general store, which was built in 1894; and the Manoir Dionne, which was built in 1850. The village church, which was erected in 1788, is also worth a stop, because it has been on the historic monument register since 1963. Saint-Antoine-de-Tilly abounds with flavours, like the fine cheeses of the Bergeron cheese factory, the apples and ciders of the numerous orchards and the fruit and vegetables of the farms. Take advantage of the tasty regional products!
