The Moulin du Portage is located in the heart of nature, on the banks of the du Chêne River. This flourmill was erected in 1816 and was powered by the water from the river to grind wheat, oat, barley and buckwheat flour. Over the years, several millers lived in this mill to make flour. In 1927, the activities of the mill stopped because of a tragic flood. Electricity contributed to the reopening of the mill with the last miller, who grinded flour for several years.
Unfortunately, a fire destroyed the mill in 1988, and it was reopened to the public only in 1993. Nowadays, visitors can enjoy a commented visit about the mill's activities and history as well as about the numerous families who lived here over the years. You can also have a picnic on the site and enjoy the walking paths along the du Chêne River.
