The parc des Chutes-de-la-Chaudière, which is located only steps away from the city, offers a beautiful site where visitors can enjoy a picnic and a relaxing day with friends or family. A few viewpoints offer a great view on the waterfall, which is 35-metre high. A suspended bridge allows you to cross the river by foot, and gives you access to 2.2 kilometres of walking paths. You can also bike along the 1.5 kilometres of cycling paths.
A playground has been built for children, and in summer, people come here to listen to their favourite music at the outdoor concert hall. At the beginning of the century, this site was mainly used for hydroelectricity production, and nowadays, a new dam has been built to allow the installation of a small power plant.
