In addition to being one of the areas of the Chaudière-Appalaches region, Lévis is a new city formed from the merging of 10 former south-shore municipalities in 2001. This new city is linked to Québec City by two bridges and a ferry. Lévis has a rich heritage, but it is also a modern city where numerous companies and factories chose to establish over the years. Lévis is also the birthplace of the Mouvement Desjardins, which is now omnipresent in Quebec and Ontario.
The Vieux-Lévis (Old Lévis) abounds with historic buildings, like the Fort Lévis, as well as with beautiful centennial houses and churches. Lévis also has beautiful cycling paths that offer breathtaking landscapes on the St. Lawrence River. Visitors will also find orchards and farms where they can pick their own fruit and vegetables and buy wine and ciders. Let yourself be charmed by fresh air and tasty regional products!
