The small town of Sainte-Justine was first colonized by the Trappist monks who had a strong influence on the local people. You can visit the Site historique des Pères Trappistes, which was built in their honour. You will find there the Memorial des Trappistes, from which you can admire the highest peaks of the region, the pink granite altar and the music pavilion. At the interpretation centre, you will learn more about these monks, and two buildings will make you discover an imposing collection of ancient objects revealing the lifestyle of our ancestors in a forest environment.
