
Saint-Omer is a very young municipality of 125 km2 created in 1954. It is located next to Sainte-Perpétue and Saint-Pamphile and it enjoys many water bodies. To the east, you can see the border with Maine. At the time, inhabitants lived off agriculture, forestry and sawmills. Nowadays, the economy is mainly based on industries. There are a few tourist infrastructures in the municipality, and hunting is one of the favourite activities done by visitors.
