Étienne-Paschal Taché, who lived from 1795 to 1865, has greatly influenced politics in Canada. In fact, he was one of the founders of the Canadian confederation, but sadly, he never witnessed the achievement of his efforts. Later, he was part of the Patriotes movement and also became the Prime Minister of Lower Canada.
He was also the co-founder of the newspaper Le Courrier du Canada. Nowadays, people can visit the house he lived in, which was built between 1821 and 1830. You can also visit the permanent exhibition “Une vie de dévouement” (A Devoted Life), which is dedicated to Taché's life. Several temporary exhibitions are also presented in the house during the year.
