The Bellechasse area is made of mountains, valleys, rivers and lakes, but is also made of legends, like that of La Corriveau. This woman was accused, in 1753, of the killing of her two husbands, though the legend says she rather killed seven of them. Her corpse was exposed in a cage at the Pointe de Lévis-Lauzon and some say she still haunts this part of the region.
In the Bellechasse area, you can do all kinds of outdoor activities like hiking, canoeing, kayaking, camping, and in winter, cross-country and alpine skiing. The parc regional du Massif du Sud, with its ski resort, is the joy of many skiers, thanks to its exceptional snow conditions. The built heritage is beautiful everywhere on the territory, and examples of this would be the centennial French-inspired houses.
The regional products are also well-known and tasty in this area where strawberries and raspberries are used to make the famous delicate wine Le Ricaneux. Bellechasse invites outdoor enthusiasts to come breathe in some fresh air in its beautiful natural sites.
