Visites minières à ciel ouvert et souterraines

Open from June to October

For a Complete Visit of the Mines

Visit a 354-metre deep (1,160 feet) opencast mine. Dive into the mine aboard the Labmobile, which is a vehicle that is especially adapted to transport people into the mine. You can visit the extraction, the packing and the shipping sites, among others. You can also visit the thematic park Jean-Dupéré, where you will see a 100-ton truck, which will surely impress young and old. You can also see an electric shovel and a drill, which are all very essential tools to mining work.

The visit of the underground mine will take you down the Bell mine, which is 316 metres deep (1,035 feet). You will thus learn about the working conditions of the minors. For two hours, you will discover the different drilling and extracting methods. Upon arrival on the premises, appropriate clothes for the visit will be provided. Warning: you need to be able to move by yourself and to feel at ease in enclosed places.
